College Baseball Polls 3/24

I'm supposed to know the makeup of our staff and all of their health issues? Jeez is right. The expectation of performing like a Division 1 program should be a given. They are using a logo we haven't used in about 5 years. Seems like sometime during that period, things could have been updated with all of the media. Even CBS didn't use our current logo; they used the one with the Louisiana's which we got rid of last year. CBS called us Louisiana on the bracket show then reverted to Louisiana Lafayette immediately thereafter and throughout the telecast. Don't know why that happened, but we are on a national stage in basketball and baseball and are now the #1 baseball team in the country. Providing correct logos and pushing our branded athletic name seem like minimal things to do in that high exposure position if you want preferred brand recognition and they do not have to be mutually exclusive.

I'm not trying to attack you, but I'd just like to point out that in the time it took to write this post you could have sent them an email with a link to the correct logo and name guide.

I know it's not your job. I know it shouldn't be up to us to send emails. But the reality is our university doesn't have the money and resources to spot check websites all day. When you (or anyone else) see something like that, sending an email is a quick and easy way for to grab onto the rope and pull in the same direction.

HC, I have said this to you before...if you are looking for the University to push the Louisiana name, you will always be disappointed. Nothing short of a law change will ever get the administration to use Louisiana exclusively. Remember, the name is 10 times more important to you than it is to our administration. If I were you I would enjoy the teams we have and forget about what some network calls us. As CajunsMike has said here many times...the most important thing is that we are called winners.

I was really focusing on use of the proper, current logo. Wasn't trying to make a name issue out of it. However, since you brought it up, remember the university is the one that put out the LaLouisiane issue on branding and that LOUISIANA is our athletic brand. The university uses that Louisiana brand on all athletic releases that I have seen. It is all over our athletic website and on our athletic fields, stadiums and uniforms. Seems to me they are doing pushing the name with all of that. So, I'm not sure I understand why you are saying our university will need a law change to use Louisiana exclusively. Then the name fiasco with the ULM game, then the Sun Belt. When it comes to something where we have national exposure and a chance to capture Louisiana nationally, we crawl into a cocoon. Perhaps you or someone could explain just what our branding initiative is. If the name is not important to our administration, let's put Louisiana Lafayette on our jerseys, fields, stadiums and websites. The mixed messages are confounding. And not just to me.

The reason we are starting to be called Louisiana - We are WINNING - YOU earn it Gents! WE are doing things right and starting to earn it! All other B S is superficial. How about University of Texas at Austin? They call them Texas! LOUISIANA will prevail in the long run. Just call us Winners and Louisiana Ragin Cajuns!

The only legit poll is the coaches poll. All others are not even legit. It's funny watches everyone get excited over some guy that post his own rankings on a blog. LOL. Hey! Let me make my own blog and own ranking system and vote ULM the #1 team in the country. Me doing that, is just as legit.

I've always considered the Baseball America poll be the best. Even the few times have been ranked the past, BA never ranked us. They have been extremely high on Louisiana this year. Which to me seems like they really believe we are that good.

Man, I remember the good ole days when the "complainers" were the cool people on this forum. The new cool on here seems to be the "complainers about the complainers".

I decided to join both cliques simultaneously. I start to write a complaint post... but then I get in a huge verbally abusive battle with myself... complaining about the complaint I just wrote. I end up all p!ssed off at myself and never hit "send". Some of you should try it.

I feel your pain.

I try to see things from both sides, but having only one eye makes for short-sighted conversations with myself.

Im getting more thrill from lsu fans trying to justify how inaccurate the polls are because UL is #1..... The same polls that they used to brag about their supreme baseball team a few weeks ago.....CLASSIC!!!

Oh Earl, we know that. Any poll where we outrank State can't, by Louisiana law I believe, be legit.

If the impossible were to happen and we outranked the Feckless Felines in all the polls, then the polls would be declared uniformly broken, and we would be informed that only the post-season would count.

And if the TRULY impossible happened, and we beat LSUA&MCBR in the post-season, why, that sport would immediately become unimportant.

Like, say, with softball.
