They did. Along with this article the Advertiser reprinted the articles from earlier this year where TJoe declared We Are Louisiana.

It wouldn't shock me at all to find out that he got a phone call to put him in his place after this blew up in the news a month ago. It's a pretty sad day to know that for the forseeable future we'll be labeled as a regional university. With that said there are some really good national brands out there with regional designations such as Louisville, USF, UCF, Boise St. etc.

I would not have as much of a problem with ULL or Louisiana-Lafayatte or UL-Lafayette if there was no ULM or Louisiana-Monroe or UL-Monroe...These schools do not have that going for them.
