I would be surprised if Hud got another job now. If I were Mississippi State or other program, I'd look at the team's performance vs. Arkansas and Kansas State in Year 3, and the difficulties the team had when the first string QB went down. He still has something to prove, maybe not to UL fans but to the greater football world. Not to be negative, but there's still unfinished business before I'd go after him. If the team makes improvements in attendance, games vs. BCS opponents, we can shine in a bowl outside the friendly confines of New Orleans both in the stands and on the field, the stadium is expanded, all the players were recruited by his staff, and another conference invites us, then I'd be all over him.
I also have concerns about the infrastructure and leadership. I'm not sold on our AD as the guy who is capable of leading us to the promised land, and our President to make the necessary changes if/when this becomes apparent. I'm still wondering what kind of leadership motivates a Top 10 ranked softball coach to quit the day before the season starts. Obviously there is a malfunction for that to happen.
