If we get Mbmaulu back this year, we could be very scary in conference play.
""They didn't turn me down," he said, "but they definitely told my parents that the guard from Bossier is the better prospect. That's a real quote."
Northwestern State recruiters went to John Ehret High to watch Payton work out, but he wound up signing with UL.
That in mind, Payton said, "it's a little personal" tonight."
Come out and support our Ragin Cajuns, we need a big crowd tonight.
Geaux Cajuns!!
What could be scary is having him back fully healthy next year, that is of course with the thought that Payton is returning for his senior year. I'm torn on this, but am leaning to hoping to see he and Payton play in the backcourt together this year.
I am torn as well. A lot will depend on how well Wronk, Brown and Rimmer develop as our outside shooters. But Mbmaulu means more to the team than just being on the court, he is a leader in the locker room as well.
I'm not certain he would take a medical redshirt if available ... he is on track to graduate this semester I believe. He may be ready to move on with his life, similar to our softball shortstop was.
