I was hoping they would figure out a way to incorporate that clock for tradition's sake.

Actually, I think it should be kept and put up somewhere in the new Grandstand complex when completed as an homage to the old scoreboard.

On another note I was told at the baseball games this weekend that RCAF is 400K over where they were this time last year. Hopefully they can close out the year just as strong.

The clock is staying and will be a part of the new scoreboard as well

A private donor opened his wallet to make sure this got done correctly and on time, nobody else. Stop trying to find a reason to convince everyone the administration is great.

That's what it takes for things to get done, people to open up their wallets. This is the case whether it was "private" or whether the Administration got people to donate. Maybe the administration went out and found someone with money and asked them to open their wallet. The RCAF does the same thing.

My experience has been the RCAF is more "general" than "specific" oriented, and I understand that. They want discretionary funds for salaries or other items, and we do need that.

The new scoreboard is a microcosm of my complaint about the sports administration as a whole. Tony/Gerald/Ken identified a specific project with a specific price and went out and asked for the money. In other words, this is what we need, this is what it cost, this is when we can have it purchased and delivered, and this is when it will be installed and operational.

Wow, a plan, with a price, and a delivery timeline, and folks are willing to put up the funding.
