Man, those are some snazzy helmets. I like the white face mask better. The fleur de lis looks great. I'm scratching my head wondering if introducing that into our already large UL symbology takes us to a better place... or does it add to the identity confusion.

J1M I really like the fleur de lis too. However I also agree we don't need to fragment our branding. The helmets should either be "Ragin Cajuns" or "Cajuns", "Louisiana" on the jersey. People identify the f-d-l with the Saints, especially outside the state. If we really want a fleur-de-lis on the uniform, maybe on the pants (hip).

I'm not suggesting that is what you are advocating it, but why would anyone want to put the Acadiana Flag on our helmets. For that matter, why is our band the Pride of Acadiana? We are not the University of Acadiana. We are the University of Louisiana and should represent the state, not a region of the state. The band should be the Pride of Louisiana.

They are the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Authement's biggest mistake was trying to change the name to the university of louisiana to get away from being a regional school. NOW its even MORE site specific having Lafayette in the name.

We were already not a regional school, hence the need to change the name.

Poor UT at Austin, forever rendered a regional school.....

First of all what they are and what they go by are only loosly related, no one goes by their full name.

Secondly nicknames were used in the law, so nicknames are legal.

They are Louisiana.
