Burnt ROUX: JJ Thomas and Raymone Andrews suspended indefinitely

I've never been a coach, but if I had to guess, I'd imagine that Bob Marlin would have to notify Scott Farmer of his decision to suspend Thomas and Andrews. I only say this because I can't imagine that Bob Marlin just went straight to the SID, no one else, and released this statement. One would assume he had to give an explanation to someone before this went public.

I could be completely wrong, but I doubt it.

This thread shows Bob Marlin has a chemistry and communication problem on this team. As of now we now we have 4 disgruntled players, several disgruntled ex-players, one disgruntled future player and some very upset friends/family members who are itching to trash this coach on message boards. I don't know what is going on here, but in my time on earth I have found that both sides are to blame when a situation gets out of control like this one. IMHO, the next few months will be critical for Bob Marlin and his staff. He has got to get control of this team and get them pulling in the same direction. If this means releasing a few players, then so be it. But lets remember this is exactly how the Robert Lee era unraveled. Marlin is going to have to make some tough choices over the next few months, if he makes the wrong ones he will probably not be here for very long.

The David Walker / Robert Lee era unraveled when they

a) Chased upper classmen.
b) Replaced them with HS players.
c) Allowed the new recruits to hold the school hostage.

Bob Marlin is still having to deal with the residual repercussions of (c)

These circumstances really trouble me. There is no doubt in my mind that Marlin would love to have both of these young men on the team in the future but there is obviously more to it than just not liking them. I do not feel that Marlin is doing anything wrong although none of us know the particulars on these matters and very likely never will know everything. However, Andrews has had a history of this stuff, especially with Marlin as he left the team last only to be let back on by Marlin. They obviously have issues and have been able to coexist but this may have come to a head. J.J.'s situation is what really ____es me off. He was made into a celebrity last year and the coaches showed they were willing to ride him as far as he could take them. To be ticked of because of playing time is silly considering it is the player who is coming off of two knee procedures and has not been healthy all year but he feels he's being slighted? Whatever. I absolutely feel that he has a lot to do with Pancake's decision not to honor his LOI he signed not that long ago and I feel that J.J. has become more of a detriment to this team than an asset and thats sad to say.

In the end, this is coaches team and people need to understand that and realize that they do not run this program, he does. I fully support Marlin in this deal and if these guys leave, good luck to them but I won't be sorry to see them go as its obviously more about them than being a cajun.

Well Marlin has already or is in the process of doing A. As of now, it looks like B is on the horizon. C does not seem to be a part of his make-up, but if A&B happen...D(getting fired) willl soon follow.
