We speak with our dollars. If you are more tolerant than I am on this subject, and willing to encourage a business to feature a game other than the one you are interested in, then go ahead and patronize Walkons. Or Pete's. But if you want a business that puts UL first, then we have to find a business that does that and patronize it. There is obviously a market for a sportsbar that supports UL to the exclusion of others. Someone is going to figure that out.

Vote with your feet. If you don't like it, don't go there, and encourage your friends not to go there.

That goes for all places (like Academy) that choose not to support our program. Very simple, just go to the places that do. Not giving a company your money is the strongest statement you can make.

I have to say Corner Bar did a GREAT job of pleasing both fans. UL game was on all TVs till 7, along with sound system on UL, @ 7 some TVs were put to LSU game and sound system was switched back and fourth between commercials, and there were WAY MORE UL fans there anyways! Just ashame both games didn't go the right way...

Ok, so correct me if I got the numbers wrong. I have 8 people @ Walk On's, 2 @ Pete's, 2 @ Corner Bar, 1 each @ Legends & Buffalo Wild Wings. 2 of us controlled our own destiny (thank God for LUS Fiber digital). First, I'm curious, can you think of some other places in town that serve food and have televisions we can watch? Second, is there anybody else checking this thread that went out to watch the Cajun game last night?

The bartenders actions to insult Cajun fans was a poor decision for Mark's business. His idea of pulling for both programs was walking in front of Cajun fans and turning the volume off on the big screen directly in front of three tables of Cajun fans. When he turned to Cajuns fans and said why can't we support both programs dressed in an LSU t-shirt and cap, I asked him if that was his definition of supporting both programs. I had asked him before he did it, if he intended on turning the volume off the Cajun game and turning LSU's on at 8pm throughout the restaurant, he answered yes! Now,with a restaurant crowd that was majority Cajun fans by a good number, this guy could have simply played the LSU game on a number of other screen throughtout the establishment. I had no problem with him playing the LSU game on several of the other screens in front of our tables, but his decision to walk in front of an area full of Cajun fans and turn the volume off on the big screen that fans were watching was completely disrespectful. It could have been handled in a better manner then it was in the end.

Thats my point.
You have to know your customers if you are going to run a sportsbar.
I honestly from a business standpoint did not have a huge issue with Walkon's doing what they did because if you took a poll of everyone at Walkon's over 50% of the crowd would have wanted to see LSU.

But Pete's established itself years ago as the UL place from previous ownership that made UL #1.
And because of this, there crowed is 80% UL.

And for them to do what they did completely slapped there customer base in the face.

The only thing Pete's has left to stand on is there UL crowd.

Lets face it.

The place is mess. It smells, its old, the service sucks, the tv's are not nearly as nice as most of the competitors.

The only thing that kept people like me going there besides places like Walkon's and BWW's is the fact that they put UL first and the other places put LSU first.

But if Pete's is also going to join the LSU 1st crowd, that changes the Paradigm completely.

Since this is no longer the case, it forces me to judge Pete's on all there other aspects that I have overlooked in the past.
And when you do judge Pete's on those things, they lose.

Most of these issues will go away once we start winning. Look at it from a sports bars perspective. LSU is on tv every weekend. UL is on tv every other weekend. For now they will bank on the known commodity.
Lets win these next two games and change the tone of our program!

It is because of some of the very reasons posted in this thread that I refuse to go to any sports bar to watch a Cajun game (or any other game I REALLY want to watch). If I stay home to watch it, I have COMPLETE control over MY remote control and will be assured that my TV will be tuned into the game I want to watch and the correct sound will accompany the picture. Last night I had absolutly no idea what was happening in Dallas, TX until time had expired in Stillwater, OK.

I like taking control over my own destiny.

I thought hard about this option and having a bunch of people over, but I liked going out and "drowning the town in Vermilion" like coach said. It sucks that we have to jostle with the Purple and Gold miscreants for television and audio control in an establishment completely decorated in UL pictures (BWW), but I like representing my school in public.

We have been b!+ching about this for years! Either one of us open a REAL UL only establishment, someone start having us all over for the games at their residence or STOP GOING TO THESE LOUSY BARS around town. They will never stop being pro LSU until we speak with our wallets! Could you ever imagine going to an univeristy of Alabama bar and asking for the Auburn game?! They would kick you ass out!
