Don't get me wrong, I think we need to get a new coach, however, that is a pretty legitimate reason for not getting a new coach. _
Whether it's Errol or a new coach, the stipulations would be the same for next season, unless the coach agrees to a smaller sum.

To be honest, if its cheaper to keep the status quo im all for it.
We have a lot of stuff going on right now in other revenue generating sports.

If we can save money in WB by keeping it as is, and putting that saved money into other sports im all for it.

When the day comes and the RCAF coffers are full and all the upgrades are done then they can revisit the WB situation.

No need pouring a lot of money in a program that generates no interest and negative cash flow.

We could hire Pat Summit and it would still take 10 years to make the WB program profitable.

So lets focus on FB, BB, Baseball, SB etc....

Once we have that in order, then we can worry about this blackhole.

So lets just do what we gotta do to keep Title IX happy, and worry about it down the road.

Basically what Jay said. Not enough interest right now to invest much into this program right now.

Partially correct. The Department of Education sees money spent as giving equal opportunity to the student experience.

In the current window -it could be argued- softball expenditures have UL in a safe place.

Also don't underestimate the connections that Rogers has to possibly hang onto his position. His father in law's still a well-respected former educator/administrator in Lafayette Parish with strong ties to current and former UL administrators. It's not as clean a break as you might expect for someone with Rogers' body of work.

And that doesn't even count his road record.

Chop- wow. So the WBB deserves a sub-par coach since it's not profitable??? They deserve a good coach just like football, MBB, Baseball and Softball. Those were some terrible comments. Get them
    A coach!
