Thread: Chris Gradnigo Granted Transfer Release by UL

  1. Default

Keep in mind that the 4 in Marlin's offense doesn't play in the post and is given a chance to shine. See what Clavell did at Sam Houston last season.

In my opinion, Marlin was the exact type of coach that Gradnigo needed. Tough, disciplined, etc. Would have had the chance to be a star next season.

I think this is great for all the guys working hard that it us obvious now that your hard work will be rewarded. Also maybe Chris should be a 4, since he has no interest in guarding on the perimeter

Not having "it" between the ears is a terrible thing.

    what a shame.

It's unfortunate in that Chris has some intelligence as he had done OK in school. His judgment and will are what appear to be lacking. If he goes to McNeese I wonder what kind of reaction he will get when he comes to the CajunDome in 2011-2012.

Give Gradnigo credit, when he was hot, he could nail the outside shot. That I will miss.
The pouty, frowning face, will NOT be missed.

I think without his frontal LeBato-me, he would not have come to the conclusion "it was time to move on". I sincerely believe he is leaving this program at absolutely the wrong time. He may have been beyond the "Marlin rehabilitation system for student-athletes that are self-absorbed"... but I think he should have given it a run.

When opportunities in life, as brief and fleeting as they will be, to be coached by a coach with discipline (and ability) come along, your Godfather should be the first to steer you "toward" that opportunity.

Most are looking at UL's supposed loss of a talent. I am looking at this young man's loss of a great life experience.

But, for every door that closes another one opens. This may give Marlin a cleaner opportunity to work with young men who still want to actually play a complete game of basketball.

I agree 100% with you JP. He (CG) had the opportunity here to REALLY improve his stock for the next level. I don't know what he is thinking (or being told) but it sure looks like a huge blunder on his part. I wish him well and know Coach Marlin is still looking for players to add to the roster (3 schollys available).

Funny.. When you have Sharp, Strong, Successful people in leadership roles they tend to weed out the half-hearted, weak-minded, and mediocre slackers. If this story doesn't convince people that we are headed in the right direction, some of us are just not paying attention. I hope the kid gets it together, but it will be on someone else's time and dollar now.

(*note that Raymone Andrews basically told Lebato to go Ruck himself.. again, sharp guys always make the right moves)

could labato be using chris to job hunt again? when he could not maneuver his way to stay here his lack of div 1 experience is a great liability. I hope chris is acting on his own but I doubt it.

Raymone has a hand full of fellow athletes from STA that are good friends of his which he graduated with that are at UL. One of those is my godchild who is transfering to UL after playing a year of baseball out of state. He and Raymone are very good friends, Mone is not going anywhere that we have been made aware of. His mom is also very much about the education, I think he will be staying!
