Funny.. When you have Sharp, Strong, Successful people in leadership roles they tend to weed out the half-hearted, weak-minded, and mediocre slackers. If this story doesn't convince people that we are headed in the right direction, some of us are just not paying attention. I hope the kid gets it together, but it will be on someone else's time and dollar now.

(*note that Raymone Andrews basically told Lebato to go Ruck himself.. again, sharp guys always make the right moves)

could labato be using chris to job hunt again? when he could not maneuver his way to stay here his lack of div 1 experience is a great liability. I hope chris is acting on his own but I doubt it.

Raymone has a hand full of fellow athletes from STA that are good friends of his which he graduated with that are at UL. One of those is my godchild who is transfering to UL after playing a year of baseball out of state. He and Raymone are very good friends, Mone is not going anywhere that we have been made aware of. His mom is also very much about the education, I think he will be staying!

If anyone on here knows Raymone they should also know he would not disrespect any adult especially a coach. He respects coach Lebato and would not of said anything to him but he is committed to UL and is working hard this summer. He is a very intelligent basketball player and nice young man. Marlin and staff will find out soon he is a quiet leader and the rest of the team listen to him even when he was a freshman on a team of upperclassman.

OBVIOUSLY, I didn't mean he actually said those words to Coach Lebato. It's a figure of speech, Saint John the Baptist. It's sports fan speak for "thanks but, no thanks". I was told that he was not very happy about being approached about a transfer, and that it indeed did happen.

Some of you guys need to loosen the collar a bit. My goodness.

I should have clarified my statement, Mike..I meant mentally.

Foofoo just know how folks on here get and don't want anyone running with Raymone saying something like that. I understand what you said but just glad you cleared it up. I do know they tried to get him to leave but he is and will be a Cajun.

Andrews did very well on defense last year and also in getting the team into the right sets on offense. At least he did that at home. On the road he struggled like the other guys did. What I would like to see this year is for him to go ahead and take the wide open shot when the opportunity arises. Last season he passed up so many open shots that it was like we had 4 1/2 guys playing on offense at times. It is OK to miss that shot as you may get the rebound and when you pass up open shots you end up with a turnover or a poorer shot near the end of the clock.

I can tell you this Andrews had a no shot policy last year. He was told explicitly that his job was to get the ball to the shooters (Grandigo, Johnson and Daigle). He was pulled from one game in which he took and made two jump shots and ended up sitting on the bench for an entire quarter. He told me he was told he was not to shoot. That was his role. So he played within what he was told to do. This year he has been told they expect him to score. His individual workout is with the 2 guards so let's look for some changes from him. He was never a high scorer but he did average 13 points a game in high school so he can score.
