Thread: Ragin' Cajun football in good shape heading into signing day

  1. UL Football Ragin' Cajun football in good shape heading into signing day

Months of work, research and evaluation culminate every year for college football coaches on the first Wednesday of February — a day openly referred to as National Signing Day.

The annual event takes place this year on Wednesday, and the bulk of UL's 2010 recruiting class has been finalized as of this weekend.

Now comes the tough part for both coaches and recruits: Waiting the next few days until verbal commitments become binding on Wednesday with a signed national letter of intent.

UL head coach Rickey Bustle, who cannot comment on unsigned recruits per NCAA rules, is eager for that day to finally get here.

Great article Josh. Thanks for the hard work you do on reporting. The DA never had this kind of coverage on recruiting before you got here.

It's a good thing we beat Southern this year because it looks like we are beating them out on alot of recruits!

That's not very comforting, beating Southern for recruiting should not be hard.

Ouch! I hate to think that we've dropped so low that now we're recruiting against 1AA Southern.

If I am not mistaken, from time to time even LSU is recruiting against Southern. There are certain kids that their program... and many of those are capable of playing at larger schools.
