Wait, I thought Lee was going to be different from Jesse in that Lee's players would succeed in the classroom? Bring Evans back!

Not all student-athletes who barely retain eligibility lose their scholarship. I believe it may become a more common occurrence in the future however as APR is a relatively new issue schools are dealing with. Also, not every school who has an athlete in this situation is trying to get out of a rolling average impact threat. Finally, if it were an athlete who performed at an all conference level, perhaps the risk would have been taken.
Wow, blaming it on the coach? Look back to McCoy's travels over the last few years. I don't think academics were a strong point for the young man. There is a certain level of responsibility that the young man must have and show to remain eligible in order to stay on scholarship and play. This is Ryan's last year. What if his grades, which I doubt were never really that good, are just an afterthought for a young man who may be packing it in. He's playing much less now with Andrews playing and Lago still there and the team is not exactly winning a lot of games. If you have questions, I suggest you ask them to the proper people for which you can get the answers. Maybe coach saw that he wasn't going to class, his dedication to the team was diminishing and saw the writing on the wall.
