Thread: Lee loses two more players

  1. Default Lee loses two more players

As most college basketball fans heard over the weekend, No. 16 Tennessee upset top-ranked Kansas on Sunday despite having only six available scholarship players due to suspensions, dismissals and injuries.

UL coach Robert Lee continues to face similar issues with his roster.

I wouldn't necessarily call them fans if they didn't care. I think the reason the whole fanbase is disappointed is because they care. Frustration and caring are two different things. I'm as frustrated at this season as anyone but I will never stop caring about any cajun athletic program. This is especially true when speaking of young men's health and wellness. Obviously, McCoy didn't get it done in the classroom and with him done after this season, he may have very well packed it in early. I feel for those guys who want to be out there but physically can't go.

You are right. I stand corrected.

Wasn't trying to argue or correct you because I see and understand your point. I just think those terms are often mixed.

Is McCoy's grades going to effect APR or only if he drops out or transfers?

That is unclear to me. I'm not sure if they affect us only if he doesn't graduate since he only has about 30 hours to go. Either way, I don't know how drastically it would affect the APR even if it did. From what I understand, we've been able to improve it to almost a perfect score.

McCoy will not affect the APR. Coach Lee had removed him from scholarship because he underperformed in the classroom in the spring.

Lee may not have the wins we'd like, but moves like this show that he isn't as stupid as some think he is. He had the foresight to remove a kid from scholarship so it wouldn't hurt APR down the road. At some point the losses will bite him, but he corrected all the crap we _____ed about with Jessie.

That makes no sense. Are you saying the coach doesnt have the final word as to who he gives scholarships too? Since when does compliance hand out scholarships?

I don't think many have thought Lee is stupid. Many have questioned his ability to move the basketball program forward. He has done well on the academic side. To bad the wins didn't take the same step up.
If and when Lee is released, the last holdover of the Fletcher/Evans era
will be gone. Flush it all and start new.

My Understanding of the APR is that as long as the guy stays in school at University of Louisiana he will not affect the APR (doesn't matter if he is on scholarship anymore or not). HE MUST STAY IN SCHOOL. If he leaves, that is when it counts against the school. Lots of players stop playing and just stay in school (believe it or not). Hope for the best. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
