LSU effect on UL recruiting

_ You've got to admit that going 9 - 4 with the dumbest Coach in the history of Coaching is pretty good.

I don't know how he does so well with recruiting. I imagine he does some kind of comedy routine - maybe like pulling a rabbit out of his big hat or imitating Elmer Fudd. Kids these days love that stuff. _

You LSU fans are going to screw up a good thing just like you did when you wanted to get rid of Charlie Mac. 8-3/9-2 was never good enough. If you think Myles is the dumbest coach your plain stupid. Who are you going to replace him with Leach???
LSU lost probably the 2 best asst. coaches in the last 3-4 years and you don't recover overnight. Fisher is taking over for Bowden and Pellini is taking Nebraska back to their good old days. I'm not an LSU fan but their fans who want to get rid of Myles are showing how much they DON"T know.

_ I posted this before and was scoffed at by the a&m@br apologists... a&m's brief run of glory is OVER..

It started actually in their NC year... the year they had no right playing for the NC... Recall they lost to UNRANKED ArKANSAS in vaunted tiggggger stadium when a win would have put them in the game on merit...followed by a victory over 19th ranked Tennessee in the SEC Championship game that was a far cry from impressive... while Oklahoma put a butt whipping on the #1 Team in the nation at the time.. Missouri if memory serves.... Oklahoma should have been in the NC game..

The unraveling had begun...

Last year it showed in spades... Getting manhandled by any top tier team they played... The fall from elite was complete....

This year the fact that Less is not More Miles is a horrible on field coach (no one questions his recruiting ability) was painfully (for me joyfully) obvious... Even yesterday in the bowl game it was clear... and of course in true a&m@br style it was not a loss but rather another "having supper with" by the officials... NOT... Penn State, from the woeful (in a&m@br fan's opinions) Big Ten dominated them...

a&m@br is now a run of the mill top tier program... in the same league as other "almost great" programs like Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State.... worthy of mention but not seriously considered as true contenders...

Nick Saban has it going on at Bama.... They will dominate the SEC West for years to come.... Outback Bowls with a sprinkling of Independence Bowls are what tigggggger fans now have in their future...

Its been a tough decade of watching them achieve what they have... but its over now.........

As to those who say why this is here?? Go look at the tiggeeer droppings and read their viatribes againts Bama etc... Its football talk.... get over it _

I sure enjoyed our bowl game this year. I love telling all my friends that we were bowl eligible though.

I agree with you. Miles is an average coach, he's not as terrible as some people make him out to be. I just don't think he really did anything outstanding enough in his career to warrant the LSU job. And with an 18 million dollar buyout, firing him would be idiotic. However, I'm not too keen on Crowton; I think the last two seasons prove that LSU needs a dedicated qb coach, and I'm not too happy about the pay raise they just gave Chavis. Those 3rd and longs were ridiculous.


Nick Saban is not leaving Bama to coach at Penn State. He's 58 years old. It's a shame he took off for the NFL. I'm pretty confident that if Saban had stayed at LSU we'd have 3 NC's instead of 2.

Not disappointed just shocked, chances are he would most likely immediately start for the Cajuns as a Freshman or be listed on the two deep. We are talking about a kid that is the 71st best DE in the country according to Rivals and a DE that runs a 4.7 forty and is a sack machine. _

Dave, the Cajuns offered Bates in the spring long before LSU started recruiting him. He visited UL in 2008 as a junior with several other athletes from St.Paul. Bates attended the LSU camp and the Scout Combine late in the summer,his stocked jumped way up after his performance against some quality linemen and running a 4.7 forty. Having said that, Bates is not an SEC DE in most peoples minds. This is why is rated just rated 71st and not in the top 30 athletes at his position. He can run and chase, but he is undersized for the SEC and would probably be a better fit at OLB at 230 lbs.

He does indeed like UL, but his family are diehard LSU fans and there is no way he is not going to play for LSU. But kids ranked as high as 71st, if you buy into such rating systems usually sign with lower rated BCS programs or high mid-majors. LSU is supposed to be a top ten program.

Point taken I still would be suprised if he ends up at UL.
