Well that's a wrap on the season.

An up and down season to say the least. They did show a lot of improvement from the start of the season. Hoping for the best this offseason and next season.

Just finished watching the game on replay. How was the put back by Olvera before the half not reviewed? Was close enough the refs should have looked at it automatically. Unless the clock on the tv display was off it was out of his hand with .2 left.

Oh well, guess it’s time for portal watch to start. I did enjoy watching this team and the turn around they made.

  5. Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball: Cajuns Battle Behind Finister, Olvera in SBC Tournament Clash with JMU

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team received big scoring nights from Jaxon Olvera and Dorian Finister, but James Madison's offensive efficiency proved decisive as the Dukes captured an 87-72 victory on Wednesday, March 4 in the second round of the 2026 Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championship tournament at the Pensacola Bay Center.

Still don't understand why the SBC invites all 14 teams to its tourney. Makes no economic sense. The SBC has been a one seed conference for years. If the goal is getting your top seed/regular season champion into the NCAA's and make the conference some $$$ why not allow top seed to host a slimmed down top 6 team conference tournament? Give top 2 seeds a bye. Rewards the top half of the conference for a good regular season.

I believe Coach White will be successful getting Cajuns basketball towards top of SBC.

That would defeat the purpose of the conference tournament and take away from the March Madness element. You shouldn't just limit your top 6 teams to competing for the championship.

Right back to Iso ball. Very little player and ball movement. The refs let them play which allowed JMU's guys to be pretty physical on defense making it even tougher to get some good looks. Olvera got to a point where when the ball got to him, you knew he was putting it up and that could have actually hurt us even though he had a good game. There were a number of open looks we missed because his mind was set to get a shot.

Well, considering the poor start to the season, the Cajuns did a couple of things I didn't think they were going to do. Number one, they won more than 10 games. Number two, they only lost twice as many games as they won.
