Earlier this week Dr. Kolluru announced his plan to UL Board of Supervisors is increasing degree seeking enrollment from 16,500 to 22,500 by 2023 and 27,500 by 2035. How much of that growth goal is online students versus on campus spaces was unsaid. I guess that's the main thrust to drive revenue upwards. Dr. Kolluru's written presentation letter briefly touched on athletics, but lacked specific goals.

Are we really comparing Lourdes paying millions for naming rights to a stadium to a piece of property in Cade or Moss Street??

Lots of uncertainty out there. I spoke to a long time professor at the university a few weeks back. He told me kids are scared to death of AI. They get a college degree and in a short time they fear being replaced by AI. I don't know what the future holds but I'm glad I'm not a 20 year old now. The university better provide a good education in fields that are in demand or the dream of increased enrollment will be just that...a dream.

Most people didn't even know the university had property on moss street or the cade farm. If they are not being used, then I say get rid of them. I would think NIRC could be on the chopping block too... I don't see much of a future in animal research.

Once we go down this road, then it's the Nelson Horticulture Center, The Old Creamery next to it, The French House, The House on the corner of University, The old Art Museum in the Oil Center, Etc Etc everything will have price. The extra L will stand for liquidators.

We need folks who can develop a future vision for these assets.

If AI is taking over then the path forward should be to put the "I" back in the name.

    UIL

    Industrial

Things that require hands on expertise.

To do this you wil need more land not less.

AI will destroy humanity, if we let it.

Best advice I give young people is learn a trade that a robot can't do, and learn how to live off the land. Relying on a job to provide for your family that will soon be done by AI is no way to live.

If you are in any computer field, get out now. All of those will be done by AI.
