Baseball Questions?

So, while listening to last night's game, I had few questions that I was wondering about and see if some of you in the "know" might be able to answer.

Through 4 games, no sight of Owen Galt, this is a young man that hit .277 last year in 48 games with 41 starts. I know that we have some really good young hitters, but I suspected that Galt would see the field in at least one of the first 4 games.

Mark Collins is another one that batted .211 last year in 17 starts and 31 games. Surprised they have not seen the field.

Where is Murphy Brooks, I know he sat out all of last year, but is he still not ready to contribute.

Are we going to see Mr. 3 digits, Landon Victorian this season?

The other two I know the answer to, but don't know the timetable and that is Jose Torres and Chase Morgan. I know they are both injured and Jose will be back soon, but Morgan is a little more of a? as I believe I heard coach say if Chase came back it would be much later in the season.

A couple of other youngsters that I am sure will get some playing time at some point are Kasen Bellard (has 1 AB this season), Will Parker (on the bump) and Trip Dobson (both in the field and on the bump).

Noah Lewis is the CF for as long as he's on campus.
Blaze Rodriguez is the SS for as long as he's on campus.
Galt & Collins may get time at other spots & see more starts next season.

Heard Victorian will be back some time this season.
If Morgan pitches this season it will be very late, don't expect it.

I don't disagree with this, but my point was through 4 games I would have thought that Galt would have gotten some playing time somewhere, not at SS, but possibly 2nd or 3rd or DH. Maybe he will later in the season, I know it is early. But interesting that a pretty good bat is stuck on the bench.

Galt came in on defense at 2B for a short time Saturday. He just has better players in front of him at the moment. I’m sure he will get some opportunities as the season goes along. Same for Dobson. Same for Collins.

“Mr 3 digits” was actually Mr. Triple Digits, and that nickname was for Kylin Leblanc, not Landon Victorian. Leblanc was not on the roster after the fall. Victorian is the transfer from Oklahoma and is rehabbing an injury. He should be back mid season some time.

And by Will Parker, I assume you mean Wil Taylor. He’s on the team and is the only pitcher that hasn’t made an appearance yet. I haven’t heard there’s any injury there, so I’m guessing he just hasn’t been as impressive in preseason work as the other guys have.

While you might be correct in that Leblanc was call Mr. Triple Digits, I am pretty sure that Landon Victorian carried that nickname as well by some on this board and some in the media. Victorian was hitting 95 mph in HS as a Junior and was projected to hit nearly 100 or over by the time he reached college, and many were calling him Mr. Triple Digits.
