How sweet would it be if they signed Kenny.

    He is not.

Kind of figured that would be the case. Worst make percentage in the league.

The standard for kickers has certainly elevated at least in terms of distance. These guys are regularly grooving 55 to 60 plus kicks easily. You can't be missing many from inside of 50 much less the ones Grupe had been missing.

60 is the new 50. Gotta have the distance.

Give Des and ST coaches credit, they managed Kenny’s limits well last year.

53 is his career long in a game but he did hit this from 63 yarder (albeit against air) at his pro day workout

Serious question- Is leg strength really an issue for him to get an NFL opportunity ?

Possibly. But I hope someone gives him a shot.

Cam Little at Jacksonville leading today’s kickers making coaches search for kickers and become comfortable at 60+. Has the NFL record of 68 and hit from 70 preseason just this year. Side note, Little in college was perfect with all his PATs (129) for Arkansas. Long FG was 56.

The NFL killed the need to have a kickoff specialist and a placement specialist. Now kickers have to have both accuracy and distance, if not, quick cut and bring a new guy in.

Cam Little’s leg strength is unreal . He has a record for a reason

With only 32 spots in the league and with kickers typically having long careers (non contact for the most part), it’s hard to get one of the spots.

Here’s to hoping Kenny can break through . He’s gotta be better than that little elf Grupe
