Did I miss it or did Governor Landry say the Louisiana Tax Payer was ‘liable’ for Kelly’s contract? From what I can tell that is accurate. I don’t see where he said the public was going to actually pay it.

I agree 100% that the state should never be liable for this and that type of a detail in the contract should not exist.

Would the taxpayers technically be on the hook? Possibly. But only if the boosters wouldn’t pay. Kelly wasn’t going to be fired until Graves and Company stepped up and said they would put up the $50 Million.

Scott Woodward should not only be fired for this act. He should be investigated for fraud & embezzlement & if found guilty he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The people of this state are on the hook for every damn dime of this money just like I thought.

Hmmm--don't state contracts over a certain amount (including head football coaches) need approval from the board overseeing the institution? Woodward was not the only person who approved this contract. He is the scapegoat--this is all political.
