I have been supoporting UL football for over 50 years. I admire the optimism, but it will not be pretty.
Some of our closest losses to SEC schools were during some of our worst seasons.
1991, 2-8-1
Cajuns 7 - Arkansas 9
1992, 2-9
Cajuns 24 - Auburn 25
2002, 3-9
Cajuns 17 - Arkansas 24
2003, 4-8
Cajuns 7 - South Carolina 14
2007, 3-9
Cajuns 14 - South Carolina 28
Cajuns had just beaten oklahoma in march madness earlier that calendar year, 1992.
Can't leave this one out, even if it was a nine win season.
It'll be in the mid 90's & no shade. Breeze? Little to none in the forecast. Going to be brutal out their.
You can watch a one sided beat down all you want if that's what turns you on. I'd like to say I had the power to give SEC schools inordinate amounts of cash to buy football players, but I don't. If I did, Ahmad Hardy would have a UL jersey on & the game would be much more entertaining & competitive. Because one sees the world as it really is & doesn't delude himself into believing what just ain't gonna happen, I'm much more willing to let the game play out & check out the highlights on you tube after I know the score.
Now, if you want to see Cinderella kick the crap out of another P-5, then watch pound for pound the hardest hitting, most physical team in the country from South Florida go down & "upset" the Miami hurricanes. Miami is a 17 1/2 point favorite with an over of 56 1/2 points. I can guarantee that neither of those two things are going to happen in that football game. There you go. there's a tip to bet next week's grocery money on.
Non conference Road wins at P4/5 schools since 2019:
Mizzou - 0
Cajuns - 2
