Because of the recruiting trickle, there were no threats of pulling support due to inaction.

On the other hand, there were threats of pulling support due to inaction on the coaching hire front.

Sounds like you should have made that call earlier before posting your initial opinion. The guy has a resume.

Go read post #6 again. My only opinion of the guy was to give him the benefit of the doubt. Just because I wasn't happy with the hire doesn't mean I had a bad opinion of him. I was just hoping we hired someone else.

I think this hire will be a hit.

He will get the program in Ship shape, I have no doubt.

When I first met him, he was working on his undergraduate degree and then got his masters in statistics I believe. He and I have discussed hitting philosophies and I know that he is a believer that preperation is the key to being a successful hitter. Meaning that you study what type of pitcher you will be facing and you prepare for her strengths and weaknesses. I have no doubt he will hit the ground running when he gets here. If you looks at Western Michigan's stats for the time he was there, the team improved in every pertinent catergory.
Thanks for sharing this Mark. Always good to get insight from a knowledgeable person.

Having an excellent and tireless recruiter on your staff is a plus for sure. Hopefully this turns out to be a very good hire.

I always felt a Man was needed on the staff. Now, we got one who has two daughters and was a Travel Ball coach. Great looking future! I hope he will like Lafayette.

A very successful travel ball coach at that. I read somewhere one of his teams won a national title.
