Troy has picked up 2 outfielder. One from Texas Tech and one from South Carolina.

There are those who attend to get an education ("students") and those who attend to play sports and get paid ("athletic employees"). I believe that you will see a push in the future to eliminate all educational elgibility requirements for athletic employees and schools will just have them sign some type of employment contract that sets out specific performence requirements and a code of conduct while they are an employee of the school. Athletic scholarships will be a thing of the past and will be replacd by an athletic employee contract.
An article in the Acadiana Advocate of Sunday, June 29 covers what LSU will be doing with their "employees". It is a long, good read and very informative.

Watching the portal like a hawk doesn’t help anything. How many spots did we have open?

Also, we are broke as a family base and no one is buying into NIL. So we have to deal with that too.

I'm worried about UL not what TSAB is doing or going to do.

Today is day 51 of the off season. The Cajuns have hired zero coaches and brought in two portal players. Really just one player as Marceaux was a given. They needed to strike early and just haven't. Like Roarman said, they are on the clock and the clock is ticking. Tick Tock, Tick Tock.

Pretty incredible that McNeese, Southern Miss, and Coastal have funded various successful programs with NIL, but the idea of us doing so at UL feels like a pipe dream. Culture of Can't indeed.
