Most Power 5 schools share for softball is an EXTRA million in addition to what they already had for NIL. That is just too big of a hill for us to climb. As a result, on paper, we are not as good as we were last year both on the field or in the coaching box. We needed to add elite depth and we did not. Our pitching staff is dependent on 2 girls that did not throw a pitch last year due to injuries and we lost our best one in the portal who did not want to leave. It’s a hard pill to swallow
In theory, NIL will be less than what it was pre-House settlement. Many of the NIL deals pre-House would not pass scrutiny under the new process. At least, in theory…
The organization running NIL clearinghouse has said 70 percent of past collective deals would not have been approved
It won’t take long for the lawsuits to be filed once the deals start getting rejected
Now with unlimited assistant coaches, most p4s had illegal assistant caoches, yet never got told anything by ncaa at the time, much less retroactively
