Even Troy has hired a pitching coach.

McNeese has as well. They hired Hope Trautwein, who won a national championship in 2022 at Oklahoma. Former Cajun pitcher, Christina Hamilton, was the pitching coach there last year.

As with every program at UL we need more folks to open their wallets. UL try to get the same folks that give too just give more. They have to figure out a way to cultivate new fans and new money.

This requires effort from the admin. So that's a no.

UL Softball has had two posts on X in last 24 hrs... a Happy Birthday to Gabby Stutes and a self congratulation for leading the nation in DP's again. Both are nice gestures, but neither moves the recruitment needle for either coaches or players.

Everyone is talking about needing pitchers, this team also need outfielders preferably with power. The Cajuns have lost two outfielders to graduating and one to the portal and haven't brought in anyone nor does the class coming in have any outfielders. Maybe they will move a few infielders to the outfield?

Until a injury happens. I believe those three players have zero career homeruns in D1 ball.
