Gov. Jeff Landry announced a statewide hiring freeze for the executive branch in April, which includes higher education. The UL Board will have to seek permission from Landry’s budget chief, Commissioner of Administration Taylor Barras, to fill any position, including the ULM presidency.

All UL System Schools currently have a budget shortfalls. It may be that UL instituted its own policies including athletics. I can't explain why it hasn't happened, but it's not my job. I was told this, but you can call Mark Romero who sits at the head of the UL-System Board.

Safe to say that most of the "new" supporters are returnees due to the coaching change.

I guess Deggs and Coach Q got permission since they have hired coaches during this time period.

Ironic, many left, so worried about a coach just markimg time waiting for retirement. But many were super excited about a "new" coach already on retirement time in a different sport

If Coach Alyson has a player from the Portal but she misses the deadline to "sign her up" will the girl have a day or two to sign up? If I read correctly, all of our transfers will be announced Monday. Correct? Why? or Why not? Help!
On June 15 you said all transfers would be announced Monday. I guess you just didn't say which Monday. LOL.

There are some returnees of course. However, there are completely new supporters as well. Some of the newbies have made significant contributions to our NIL efforts. There are also some people such as myself who will support the program regardless of who is the coach.

This has nothing to do with softball.

Seems recruits should be told about our message boards and radio coverage.... none of the blue bloods throwing nil at them have that for softball

Both coaches are in Colorado and that tournament ends Saturday. Not sure if they will stay until Saturday. I wouldn't expect anything to happen this week.

Texas State announced three transfers this offseason all coming in early June.

Troy has hired a pitching coach and announced four transfers this offseason.

Other schools in this conference are getting things done, while we’ve only had two transfers that both primarily play the same position and no other needs have been addressed. This team needs at least three more pieces with an outfielder, pitcher, and catcher being priorities, to go along with two new coaches. There’s too much work to be done to seemingly be dragging our feet while others are remaining active.
