    A free education is compensation.

I am still amazed at how easily these portal players are able to transfer their academic credits to remain eligible and stay on pace to graduate/graduate early.
There is still listed in residence reqt for graduation, and i dont remember one classmate ever successfully transferring more than 50 pct of credits, but now 100 pct for athletes,???

P.s. why do so many athletes major in kinesiology, are there that many jobs, is there really that much interest, or have coaches made deals with those profs?

If academic scholarship recipients still have to pay fees, how does athletic scholarship avoid that?

I don’t mind them receiving sponsorships or being able to do commercials, car dealership appearances, etc.

But tough for me to decide to contribute when it’s all out free agency and within a year, we end up losing best players to P4 programs who have way much more financial support than we will ever have.

My worry is that the focus on NIL earnings might shift athletes' motivations from competing for the love of the game to pursuing monetary gains, potentially affecting their performance and commitment to their teams. Also, as a former college athlete, the bonds created playing for the same team with the same teammates for 4 to 5 years last a lifetime. When my former teammates get together, we spend the vast majority of our conversations about things that happened off the field, living in the dorm, suite wars, chasing the girls, parties, eating at Snacks late night. These team jumpers don't understand what they are missing out on and that money they may make along the way won't last a lifetime....dats for sure!

outside of NIL, is there any other part of the program you give to?

Not understanding your question. Of course there’s other things to give to in order to support Cajuns athletics. The individual sports at times have line item fundraisers on their athletics page.

So true, or used to be at least.

Given the well documented familiarity of the former cajuns with each other, should sooners coach have changed pitchers more often?

No. Their second best pitcher Deal, was not the real deal this year.
