I just fired off an email to the editor of that newspaper. If you want to do so as well, here's the email address. ayoung@gannett.com.

ABSOLUTELY. So let's say they win the national championship, which I think they will now. The precedent is now set, go buy one.
Now, let's see what the million dollar plus hire does for next season. This will tell us what was the deciding point for going to tt.
None of this is good for us.
I included this in my email:
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has made 33 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, ranking seventh-most in NCAA history.
They have participated in the NCAA postseason consistently, with their latest appearance being in the 2024 season where they hosted the Lafayette Regional as a No. 13 national seed.
Cool. I brought up the fact that they've been to the World Series six times, they won the Sunbelt conference title 20 out of 24 times and the conference tournament 18 out of 20 four times. And, of course I mentioned the winning streak. Never to be beaten. Let's see if he responds to us.
Texas wins 2 to 1. Million dollar pitcher can't execute intentional walk.
Paraphrasing Glasco from pregame show. "I would rather have a million dollar player than a 40 million dollar stadium ". Sounds kind of short sighted to me. His million dollar pitcher may be gone to a higher bidder next year. Then what? A 40 million stadium is not going anywhere. I guess we will find out shortly if Canady enters the portal to see if she can milk more money from a broken system.
Cajun softball benefited from a benevolent donor over the years willing to spend over and above the average most programs were willing to. A hell of a run.
Problem is the financial bar got raised. What TTU did this off season just escalated the money war. There are programs out there, like Texas, that will financially bury TTU over the long haul. OU got caught flat footed, that won’t happen again. At the same time OU did go out and bought Sam Landry, a pitcher OU knew could beat them. Took her off the market.
Even at the non power level, the best move the SBC made was keeping Liberty out the SBC. They have become overall consistent in being at or near the top of CUSA. Their problem is at some point the donors will feel buying championships isn’t the Lord’s work.
Glad some of y’all sent emails. Will that info see the light of day? Probably not, until NIL blows up and someone writes a book, and make it appear like a some kind of revelation.
Who has a 40 million dollar softball stadium? Or does he think the cajun field renovations prevented a million dollar pitcher from coming to UL
Sooners had beaten red raiders 37 times in a row, last loss was 2012. 20 of the 37 were run rules, and one game in conf tourny final.
21 shutouts.
