Season continues to be weird. That's an incredible job to come back and win that. And shows that progress they've made over the last few weeks. Down the last out, no one on and a team with no power to gets 4 straight to reach including 2 doubles (the first 8 hits were all singles.)
Softball fans know the changes that had to be made this year in the offense to compensate for the loss of power. Just to do a comparison to the offenses that UL fans are used too I just looked at last year's team stats vs. this year.
*Note the 2024 stats are through the whole season. 2025 is up to May 8th.
370 runs scored in 24' vs. 228 in 25'.
537 hits in 24' vs. 398 in 25'.
27% of the hits went for extra bases in 24'. Only 17% in 25'.
Hope they keep this thing going this season, but I'm sure there are a few out there that miss the typical Cajuns offenses. Hope we get some bats in that can get us back to that. Certainly, makes it fun to watch.
