We knew it was probably going to end this year. Didn’t think it would be like this to an average Marshall team. The first conference series with a new regime.
The scary thing is that the Cajuns continue to show their gaps in talent and/or consistency.
Certainly a foreign version is softball for this fan base.
UL softball fans will look back at the streak like UL MBB fans look back at the 70s-80s. Cajuns could pull this series out, but the better teams won’t commit the errors Marshall has this weekend (4 in each of the first 2 games). Also, Marshall’s RPI was 141 earlier this week.
In the NIL age, I don’t expect this NCAA record will be broken by anyone.
This season is an anomaly only if next season the Cajuns bounce back.
Run ruled by Marshall, 12-4.
Ouch. I switched to baseball.
What a difference a week makes. Feeling pretty good last Saturday.
Will have to have a good recruiting season. We will find out soon how good a job these coaches can recruit. In the past we recruited players in the top 100. With the NIL it could be a problem.
Alyson first recruiting class will be the 2026 class that will debut in the 2027 season. The freshman now.and the incoming class isn't her recruits. I have only been impressed with one freshman and I don't see any true stars in the incoming class of 2025. This staffs ability to recruit the portal will be important for the next few seasons to fill immediate needs.
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team faced a sizeable deficit after the first inning and wasn't able to catch Marshall in falling 12-4 (6 inn.) in the Sun Belt Conference series finale at Dot Hicks Field in Huntington, West Virginia.
Why was the schedule different this weekend?
