I’m not gonna sit here and bash this team and coaching staff for going 8-2 so far. But this loss was so disappointing. Still have a SBC championship to play for. Finish it off.

We have become a good football program. The opportunity to get ranked will be there every season.

But for G5 programs, getting ranked will require winning with style and having a power program win.

Had we beaten more teams like we beat stAte we would’ve been ranked.

Please list the teams throughout the nation that have not had at least a bad half…. Georgia? Texas? A&M? Not many. I agree it was very disappointing but it’s a long season.

Really, the only reason I’m hurting this morning is the opportunity we had with the CFP and rankings. We have to keep up with the Joneses and Tulane is making it hard on us. Would have been so awesome to keep on their heels. I’ll get over it but it will take some time. Boise St. better not trip up and let Tulane into the Playoff.

It’s a shame we have to be damn near perfect being in the SBC as national media just does not give the SBC any credit. The SBC top to bottom is a solid conference. They are too worried about their darling SEC not getting in 4-5 teams in the playoffs and ignore the competitiveness of these other conferences especially the SBC.

I know everyone is upset, especially with the way the 1st half went, coming out completely flat and digging ourselves a 21 point hole.

That said…personally, I was expecting another 6-7 season, or maybe a 7-6 one.

IF, and it’s still a big if, but if we can run off two wins to finish and host the SBC Champ game, I’ll be excited. It sucks that the chance for the “magical” season is gone, as now there’s probably no path to finish the season ranked Top 25, but there’s still the potential for a 12-2 season. We looked at Troy the past two seasons as the class of the West and the Belt, they were 12-2 and 11-3 the last two seasons.

AGREED. The only good thing about last night is that we can STILL win the Western Division AND host the SBC Championship!!!

Well considering the only way we don’t host is losing another game…think I’d rather win out and host. We can worry about Dez’s and the team’s performances then.
