Follow the timeline.

Its been confirmed that the announcement of a game vs Wake Forest preceded the announcement of a cancellation of the previously announced game vs Michigan State.

If that is in fact true, why did we back out? Other than weather I would think MSU would be a better chance at a win. They were terrible last year and are bringing in a new staff. Seems like an early season game against them would be winnable.

Personally I like a game with Wake Forest, just not a fan of how it came down or the lack of transparency or explanation, communication.

I believe the games are on different dates. Wish we would play both teams and cancel a game vs. a G5 team instead.

Statistics can present them however you want, but until someone who actually knows speaks up, it will remain a mystery . . . one thing we have all figured out however is that C4L was mouthing off and knew absolutely nothing . . .

This is probably it. Further speculating, it's possible WF said hey we'll do a 2 for 1. Perhaps Michigan State was given a chance to match a return trip and they declined, so we opted for the WF series instead.
