UL football recruiting

A couple notes worth pointing out today for UL football.
*TE Matt Ulm has decided to give up football. Coach Rickey Bustle said Ulm plans to finish up his undergraduate degree and then go to physical therapy school. The Mandeville native recently finished his junior season. He did not catch a pass this season.
*With Ulm not coming back, the Cajuns are expected to add 17 or 18 recruits in the 2009 signing class on Feb. 4. The Cajuns currently have 11 public commitments. That includes the three JUCO signees and one 2008 signee, DB Melvin White from Texas. White sat out this season to become academically eligible.
Three junior college players - WR Andrew Joseph and Vernon Wolfe and DL Jordan Topp - have already enrolled and will compete in spring drills. Joseph's teammate at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College, DL Tyrell Gaddies, has committed and is expected to be on campus in May.
*UL is looking at one more JUCO player, a DL from a Mississippi junior college, this weekend. (That's the most information I found out so far.) But he would sign in February and not arrive until the summer.
*UL target Josh Johns, an all-state S from Central High in Baton Rouge, committed today to LSU. That's according to a report by Scout.com. Johns visited Louisiana Tech last weekend and is expected to visit UL this weekend. He would have a chance to play right away from the Cajuns, while LSU might look for him to delay his full-time enrollment until January 2010. If that happend, he would be included in LSU's 2010 signing class.
