I hope not Brian is a great man and coach, he and I grew up together.
I was finally able to get in touch with a few people and I found out this was true. Some people I spoke to would like to see Coach Gunner (former Cajun) promoted to HC but I guess we will find out soon enough.
You can say what you want about his football coaching abilities, but he did care about his players. He did alot for those kids on and off the field, I have known Brian for a long time, and know he way beyond the call of duty for a lot of those kids to make sure they were on the right path. I have a son who played for Brian for two years, so I'm sad to seen him go, buti nterested in who will take over for him. I think Gunner is a great o-line coach, the kids love him. Also Coach Chuck Dupree is there, he was the H.C. before Brian took over, I would not mind seeing him take over.
I also played for him and Dupree...Dupree did a lot more for us than Coach Long ever did.
Coach Gunner has had more influence on my life than pretty much anyone other than my close family. With Coach G I knew I could go to him for anything and he would be there for me...hell I still go see Coach G whenever I have a chance.
My experience with Langlinais is far different than what you describe and I will leave it at that.
Most of my experiences with Brian are off the field, I have heard bad stories, but never witnessed any of them. Coach G talked at the touchdown club meeting last night, about the hiring process. They will have to advertise the job for a while, before making a decision. He an Coach Bergeron will be taking over the AD duties. We will see who's next to turn this school around. It's just hard for me to believe that the kids in Scott and Duson are that much better than the kids Comeaux draws from, even with STM taking some good kids.
