This is absolutely killing college athletics. In MBB, there is usually more players in the portal than the total number of D1 starting positions.

Football won’t approach comparative numbers, but 2k players isn’t out of the question.

If a player is a graduate transfer, God bless him, he technically fulfilled his agreement. Undergrad, dead to me. Especially if bailing on your supposed “brothers” before a bowl game.

Basketball is ruined already. NIL and the NCAA/NIT move pretty much other than the power conferences has condemned the vast majority of the mid majors to one payday team each year.

FB isn’t far behind. The SBC might be a great performing G5 league, but bowl pecking order only supersedes the MAC. And the SBC got saddled with 4 of 6 MAC teams.

Baseball and softball is next. WBB overall sucks bad enough, it’s the usual gang at the top each year, no urgency to hoard that yet.

So far via this site....which I find fairly up to date/accurate. Still at 0 players in portal. A bunch listed for others....still at 0 for UL so far.

ULM has two 4 star in portal. LTURd..... their best WR and a fairly decent DL.
