Don’t think that is what he was implying. It’s painfully obvious that Des isn’t ready, but he COULD have been ready later on in his career after getting more experience other places.
How many college head coaches have you seen bomb at their first head coaching opportunity, get fired, and make their way all the way back to another head coaching opportunity? Most of the time, they end up as a washed up high school coach somewhere.
