Well, make it 3 days in a row. Right at the beginning of an interview with Carencro Football Coach Tony Courville regular programming is cut off (I wanted to hear that interview) and we are treated to local commercials continuously for 25 minutes until the top of the hour when national programming begins. Do they not have anyone that can fix this issue or worse, nobody there is even aware of the problem. No matter what it is this is not a good look for our UL sports flagship station and a station that calls themselves the GOAT.
I gave up on radio many years ago. I was listening less and less due to all the same reasons people are mentioning. Final straw was when Dave got punished for doing the right thing and challenged the Lafayette media bias / status quo.
What is really sad is I dont even listen to Ragin Cajuns Podcast. I have tried multiple times and the sound quality is just horrible. Jay, I know you are on here frequently. Dont know if anyone has ever mentioned that issue or if its something that can be done about it. I really would like to listen but just cant get past 5 min of straining to hear. Interview sound is low and background noise is distracting. I really would like to listen to every upcoming episode but the quality just has to be better.
Make that 4 days in a row. At least this time they weren't interviewing a local head football coach when the onslaught of commercials began. I emailed someone at the station so if they were unaware of the problem before they now know for sure. Hopefully they can resolve the issue shortly as the time it is occurring is a time I am able to listen to the radio and I would prefer listening to sports radio that is not a nationally broadcast show.
What does it mean on their schedule when a national show is "hosted by" someone local?
Also fletcher bio on the goat website does not mention the goat..
"1130 The Tiger is thrilled to have Fletcher here at the KWKH studios and happy to be the home of his one-of-a-kind show. 1130 The Tiger has exciting plans in place for Fletch."
