I think red is the most vivid color available and white is the greatest contrast available.
For that reason I favor going strictly with red (vermilion) and white with no trim color.
The black uniform (for schools that don't have black as one of their official colors) is a fad and 10 years from now everyone will have ditched this copy cat trend.
I did like what was arched across the chest, though. It had a cleaner look than what is normally there.
Something is wrong here. We wear our school color uniforms and they say Louisiana-lafayette. We wear black unis, which is not our school colors at all and they simply say Louisiana.
I like the Louisiana part, but thats about it.
Why in the hell do we have to keep confusing everyone.
I like the black and red unis. I think they ought to look at incorporating those colors into the football unis. It would be different. maybe we need a change...
I see the same contradictions in Arkansas State's uniforms. Their colors are Red and Black. They call themselves the Red Wolves yet their primary color is black.
If you were at one of the home games last year, the red on the artificial turf is what I call vermilion which is the official color (Vermilion and White). The red jerseys were definitely different.
My personal preference is straight Vermilion and White, but I'll go along with you on one thing. If they persist in using other than the official colors they should change them.
In Wal-Mart I the identical red and black striped rugby shirts with the UL "hot wheels" logo, the Arkansas State logo, and the North Carolina State logo. By using the unique vermilion color (which I consider to be an orange-red) it might capture attention with its uniqueness.
I agree with others who say it is out of place, I hope it isn't Nike forcing this on us. If so "Nike take a Hikee."
Vermilion and White is the single oldest UL tradition it goes back 108 years and was reported on by the Times Picayune. For a school many say is lacking in tradition I don't think it is wise to trash the oldest one you have. Especially when it goes back to the very first football game ever played in Lafayette.

Not directed at you Cali, but we haven't worn "Vermilion" in years. I get a kick out people claiming they hate the black and we should be wearing our Vermilion and white. Where the heck have all these people been for the last 15 years? We haven't worn Vermilion in years and most of these people hadn't mention a peep about it until yesterday.
If they play like they did yesterday the rest of the year, the Cajuns should wear black every darn game! Who feaken cares!
