Besides…Delta State, Arkansas Angels, Mobile and Loyola-NO. Pick the year. Good night.
Blackham is not the answer but one or two throwback games in blackham every season would be pretty cool.

Beating a Texas, a Florida, or a Georgetown every once in awhile will get people interested. Bobby Paschal beat all 3 of these teams, and we saw how the fan base jumped on board. On the other hand, constantly flexing about winning 18-20 games when most of those teams are Sun Belt, SWAC, or Southland schools will not move the needle with people. As a matter of fact, it does the opposite. That's like football scheduling 4 non-conference FCS teams, going 4-0 in those games, and then bragging about finishing 8-4. Well, you still went 4-4 in conference in most likely would finish in the middle of the pack. People see through that kind of stuff.

Start beating the Auburn's, Florida State's, and TCU's more often. Yes, I know there are road games. But that will definitely generate more fan interest and get more people on board.

Yeah, but those teams won't schedule us anymore, cause theyre......wait for it.....scared of us. And we wonder why we're not respected.

But, but didn't they tie or beat Alabama in a pre season scrimmage and they only lost to the national championship Baylor by 30.

Well there's that, but what really brought th DP was not turning in the defense to the NCAA.

Portions of the defense were instead handed over to Ron Gomez (years later) to write a book.

AND BRAGGED ABOUT IT ON TWITTER. I forgot which coach it was, but he talked about how we were one of three teams that scored 80+ on Baylor after they won the National Title........we lost by 30. That was a first for me.

I had forgotten about that lol.

It appears we scored the 80+ before they won the national title. And it looks like it was the only time they allowed 80+ in a regular season non overtime game

This whole thread is amusing. It will get topped in four years when Marlin walks out to a retirement celebration and nobody on the radar is the new coach.

Zoom Zoom, 20 years ago you were jumping and hollering in them stands. I bet it’s been a long time since you had that much fun at a Cajun Game.
