I heard that as much as $400,000 is supplied by the State of Louisiana. Why not keep it within the State of Louisiana.
I am just glad that Cuba does not have a FBS university.
If you’re not equipped all the hard work in the world won't help. Say what you want about LaTech but they have a vision.
So what this article says is that our university has zero national appeal and the Sunbelt has zero stroke with bowl committees. Josh, please go into the press conference and get answers.
You can call me names if you want to make it personal, but Today, we are seeing the results of a poor plan. You can sugar coat it anyway you want, but we are staying home because we scheduled above our heads. Just take a look at how the better programs maintain their bowl eligibility, they schedule teams early that they have a good chance of winning before they get into their competitive conferences. If you support this, you are accepting
losing instead of promoting Winning.
I disagree.
They have had some successes in sports (as have we). But we left them behind long ago.
Because our foundation-- academics, fundraising, attendance, facilities, research, campuses, enrollment, grants, national categories and rankings, the things a University EXISTS for-- are far, far ahead of Tech's.
This is a setback. For those of us who seriously study UL and her history, the past 110 years have seen setback after setback after setback. But through each one of them, somehow UL rises again: stronger, bigger, and better than before.
To everything there is a season. Everyone, EVERYONE, has good days and bad days. Last year LSU won the NC, this year they're crying in their tomato-based gumbo.
The good times don't define you. The bad times do.
That is, the bad times, and how you handle them...
I know this is going to sound rather obvious to most but the the reason we play "money games" is for the money. As long as we must rely upon the $1.4 miilion or so these games bring in fund our athletic budget, we will continue to play them. This point has been noted on this forum many, many times.
It's not a matter of supporting it or not supporting it, it's reality.
