Thread: Hard-Fought Battle Concludes Historic Postseason Berth for Louisiana

  1. UL Volleyball Hard-Fought Battle Concludes Historic Postseason Berth for Louisiana

In a match where neither team led by more than six points at any moment, and there were 28 ties and 11 lead changes, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team fell just short in its final push to overtake South Dakota State as the Jackrabbits held on for a 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 25-20, 16-14) in the opening round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

If the ball is not hit into the net, or, hit out, at least the team still has a chance to score a point. When one of those two things happen, the point is over.

    Love the free-throw analogy.

I would think the difficulty would be more akin to a batter not chasing bad pitches . . . even a marginal player can develop the skill of making a free throw with sufficient practice . . .

If there is a baseball analogy, I would think a serve hitting the net is more like a wild pitch than it is like a batter chasing or "not chasing bad pitches."

Pitching out of the zone is more than likely intentional then swinging at a bad pitch . . .
