I hope they are thinking that commitment to something greater than yourself will provide you the greatest gifts in the long term, although may seem to be a sacrifice in the short term.

I think that’s a big reason. I also think that every UL pitcher is a natural reliever. They don’t have a pitch to contact mentality so they are trying to strike out every hitter they face. And that runs up pitch counts.
