Although, Arizona finished next to last in the PAC 12 so there will always be some “I told you so” teams for the committee to hang their hat on. Still really impressed with them and their run.
Considering where they were and what they did, they deserve a lot of credit. The coach must be better than I thought.

Unfortunately, it gives the committee a justifiable reason in the future to continue giving teams a shot in the tournament who lose twice as many games as they win in conference. Arizona was 8 and 16. So, in those conferences, regular season means really nothing.

Would UL have a better conference record in the PAC? Would Arizona dominate the Sunbelt like the Cajuns do?
    There's your answer.

I know you addressed this to roarman, but I'm going to give you an answer, even though you aren't likely to believe me. The answer to both is Probably. The Cajuns would likely have a better record than 8-16 and Arizona would have a similar record in this year's Sun Belt as the Cajuns.

I actually don't understand the point of your questions, though. The Cajuns were going to get an at large bid even if they lost the Sun Belt championship game. Arizona was placed in the bracket even though they finished last in the PAC 12 (tied with California, lost the series to CA).
