I think it may have been an umpire issue as well. You may note we have no "local"umpires for this series. All four are from east of the Mississippi River.
Moving a game into traditional office hour times is not easy. Almost all people involved in working the events have other jobs or are in school. Moving from 6 to 3 was a small hill to climb. Any earlier probably more of a mountain.

….Jay if I remember correctly, ..that for the shot put the optimum angle was like 45 degrees …..maybe VoB can help on Javelin , discuss, jumps…..straight on kicking the wind was either really good or bad because of my elevation……for whatever, the hits taken away by the outfielders (UL & OPPONENTS) has been incredible….wind has to factor in holding the ball up!
