Obviously we will have to replace FG next year but with the exception of how well they were able to run the ball early in the game, our defense did a great job. Grant Wells is a good QB and our DB's made him look bad.
If Grant Wells is good, our defense and DBs must have been very good. I thought he made many poor throws and is very mediocre if not worse.

He definitely looks like he has regressed since his freshman year. Anyway, I think our defense does what it always does. Wreak havoc on the QB all game and make the proper second half adjustments to finish them off.
Offensively it was pretty good although could have been great. Left a lot of points on the field and I think had we cashed in with touchdowns instead of 3 fgs, we probably win going away. I know that’s probably starting the obvious but with all that’s going on in the program I was definitely pleased and excited about the future.
I love that Marshall is coming into the conference and I really hope we play them next year. Hopefully Mr. Gill saw the chippiness and decides to pair us up again.

Something not mentioned; somebody must have coached up our kicker because he had probably his best game as a Cajun!

So happy for him to go out on top.

I am not going to take credit for this because it was said by a friend of mine, but Nate's nickname needs to be:

    "Big Nut" Nate Snyder

And the Time Out hand signal to the Marshall bench right before halftime was priceless.

I thought 15-20k but who am I to say.
We moved to great lower 40 yard line seats on Marshall side.

I wish we could have played
    Cal State San Diego
    UT SATX
    Or BYU
We need to fix the Nola tie ins
AT LEAST two conference champions should play ….

Hopefully with all of the conference realignment they will. I agree with your posts, would have also like Houston and/or even Utah State. Their were plenty of teams that would have been more excitement to the game. But hats off to Marshall they played a whale of a game vs us.

We were better for most of the game, specifically the 1st and 4th Quarters, they got the
a large part of the 2nd and a good part of the third. But we won the battle when it counted.

In the 4th quarter we dominated with our run game. Michael Jefferson made a couple of huge plays as well as Jacob Bernard and John Stephens JR for stepping up in this one as well.

Thought it was funny as heck. Lucky we didn’t get flagged.

Napier would not approve. Undisciplined moments in the game harkened back to the game mid season our discipline was an issue, especially on 3rd down (forgot which opponent), next game Billy had that fixed.
