Something like 68 teams make a bowl game in college these days. I guarantee it was much harder to make a bowl when Jake was at UL. However there is only 1 SUPERBOWL, who played in it, Jake or Drew?

    GEAUX UL! _
So all that matters in college isnt winning? Oh yeah and by the way jake lost the superbowl so i geuss it doesnt matter!According to you all that matters is bowl games. so i geuss you think rex grossman is as good as jake b/c he played in a superbowl. Get jakes junk out of your mouth eventually your going to choke on it! Also i didnt say anything about the saints, i'm just pointing out how idiotic you look when you say things like jake is better than brees

Hey dumbass go back and read what I wrote. I never once said Jake was better. All I said was I'd rather a QB that wins and gets his team to the last game! Where did you get your reading skills, LSU?

Enjoy Brees and another playoffless season for the saints.

CrazyCajun nice homophobic reference! When are you coming out of the closet?

Brees is a better QB by FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR. WAY FAR. Brady, Rivers, Manning (x2), Brees, Cutler, Delhomme. That's my order of QB I'd want for my team.

Don't get me wrong, Delhomme is awesome and hometown, and what-have-you, but take the homer glasses off for two seconds and really evaluate the talent.

Once again I never said anything about Jake being better! I just said I'd rather have the QB that can get his team to the ultimate goal, THE SUPERBOWL. Everyone knows Marino is better the Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson, but which QB doesnt have a Superbowl?

Jake is the only QB from a losing Superbowl team to have what is considered a top-10 Super Bowl performance.

If Fox hadn't gone for 2 so early Jake would have the Top Super Bowl performance of all time. They would have won.

The mistake the Saints made was not starting Jake in 2000.

there are 21 other starters that have somethin to do with those w's and l's. jake doesnt win or lose by himself. neither does brees! but anyone and i mean anyone who says they would rather have jake than brees is an idiot! peroid! Get out of breaux bridge and off teurlings campus and ask anyone in the nation that question and you get the same answer. including in carolina.

Shoulda coulda woulda.... And who's to say we aren't in the same situation now? Jake had a great season that first year. Since then, he hasn't done anything overly impressive. Could it be that defenses have film on him now? I would venture to guess that it has something to do with it. I am not totally against Jake. He is an alum and I'm proud to claim him, but he now plays for a division opponent and that makes him the enemy. He is a good QB at best so stop putting him in the hall of fame. Drew Brees is the better QB now and that's all that matters.

Ask any Saints fan would they rather a "game manager" QB bring them to the SUPERBOWL or a great QB with mediocre teams?

If Brees is so damn great he should overcome the inadequicies of the players around him. If you dont remember the Panthers were possibly the worst NFL team the year before Jake got there.

You sure like to ASSUME a lot. I'm neither from Breaux Bridge or Teurlings. Quit making an ass of yourself!

We have multiple arguments going on in this thread. The most ridiculous was that Jake was a better QB than Brees. Now even you have backed off that assertion.
Your other statement about Superbowl appearences is not yet played out. This will only be decided on when the players retire. As you noted QB's better and worse than Jake have won the big one. The reason is that football is a team game. Jake was lucky enough to play on a team with a very good Defense and running game. He was also skilled enough to engineer some 4th Q comebacks.
One flaw to your logic is that not one GM or coach in the NFL would agree with you. What would happen if Loomis offered Brees for Delhomme in the offseason(other than being killed in the streets of NOLA)? After the Carolina GM changed his pants he would make the trade in a nannosecond. I would even go so far to say the GM of Carolina would trade Jake AND a #1 pick for Brees.

Whoa now, attack mode off. Delhomme was better than Brooks, and should have been the Saints QB. But, whether we like it or not, the universe is unfolding as it should, and Brees is the Saints QB. Good luck to both, but I'm still a Saints fan until death - or they move to San Antonio.
