I think Jake is toast in Carolina. I feel really bad for him. They are saying on their fan boards everything from Jake was high, he is a stupid QB and he really wasn't trying. We all know that isn't true. I'm sure he will land someplace but I really think he will not be a Panther next year. I'm curious about you Panther/Jake fans. If he ended up with the Saints as a backup for Brees would you guys become Saints fans or stay Panther fans?

You cannot be serious, it has always been about supporting a Ragin'Cajun named Jake. That is not ever changing for most people. But if Jake is a back up on the Cowboys, I gotta support the Saints. Jake has had his chance to win and unfortunately it appears he needs to do a lot to get back to his first year. Again it was never about being a Panther fan, come on this is professional sports and fans support whoever they want for whatever reason they want, no loyalty for a particular team. You know! What have you done for me lately mentality, kind of like you 90.

I wouldn't judge the future by the knee jerk reaction of 99..9% of the Panthers fan base.

Tired arm happens all the time in baseball and pitchers come back from it, no doubt his Tommy John surgery came into play.

This decision will be made by Fox when the time comes and will probably be determined next preseason.

Well Mr. Know it all I asked the same question about three weeks ago and many folks said they were done with the Saints and staying a Panther fan regardless of what happens to Jake. I suppose you speak for all the folks on this board. One told me personally he was done with the Saints and would be a life long Panthers fan. I was curious if these Jake/Panther fans will stick to it or slowly come around back to the Saints. Megalomania is a treatable condition these days Expressie.

I as always will be a Saints fan and a Jake fan. Football is pretty much over for me after last night. I guess I'll pull for the Giants since Manning is a local product.

There are plenty of people who swore off the Saints, and those are not the ones who support the Panthers because of Jake alone, they simply swore off the Saints and need a team to feel good about.

Me I am in the Steeler and Cardinal zone for now, but am not going to watch football until the Cards are out, there will be too many negatives about Jake to enjoy that. Geaux Ike, Geaux Mike get those interceptions.

Eli Manning is a nice guy, but really never ever gave him or Payton the home town boy, native boy, favorite son status. Both spent their football week ends at Oxford when Archie was no longer playing, not that there is anything wrong with that. Both chose out of state universities, and neither will ever set up their homes in Louisiana again. Again Geaux Ike, Geaux Mike.

Wow! You know the Mannings and their future plans? I guess they are part of your fav 5. Very impressive. If you read through this thread that I guess Turbine combined you will see I asked the question that if Jake was traded would you still be a Panther fan. Most said yes after years of frustration with the Saints and the fact that Jake was their QB. I was curious as to if they would swing back to the Saints if Jake wanted to be a backup to Brees. I suspect (JMO) that if Jake became a QB at Texas, Miami...etc they would follow that team because they are big Jake fans. If Jake is done as a starter or simply retires I suspect they might come home to the Saints.

I don't know Turbine. It just seems that last night Jake lost the game for them. JMO if it wasn't a playoff game it wouldn't have been a big deal. If Carolina doesn't at least go after a QB in the draft or free agency there will be heck to pay. Oddly enough it is similar to the Hasselt/Brooks situation. Fox and Delhomme are at least in the fans eyes married. It will be interesting to see if Fox cuts him adrift or stands by him. Regardless of what happens I'm sure we have not seen the end of Jake. He is not going to go out like that.

Good point and i will be interesting.

Oddly enough in Jakes 2nd ever NFL start he had a game similar to the one yesterday except he ran for 78 yards. He can bounce back.

    It was against the Panthers.

I have been a Steelers fan since the early 70's and always will be unless a new set of owners come on board that act like Saints owners. So far as the Panthers, never was much of a Panther fan until Jake went there. Once I saw the type a game they played, I was hooked. Probably stay one after Jake leave or retires.

The best part of Jake being with the Panthers is that I could follow his career without having to watch the Saints. So far as the Saints are concerned its always a good day when somebody (I don't care who) hangs a loss on them. They have always been a pathetic franchise, they are now and probably always will be pathetic.

I pull for Jake and whatever team he will play for. I would even pull for San Fran or Atlanta if he played for them and those are two teams I dislike. Once he is no longer a Panther, I won't pay attention to them unless a former Cajun is doing well there.
