Just as the homecoming situation, Mr. Mouse says not only when but where. That’s how the brand grows…not getting full of oneself and sitting home.

    Overall best outcome:
Louisiana & ULM lobby for Tech
Majority Remainder of Conference says GFY
We offer to book OOC games for various sports on OUR terms

    Separation achievement

Yep. The tie-ins are the last, and only thing that coosa has over the SBC. But that should be changing next go-round, after all the current realignment stuff is done.

    I agree 100%

Kids don't play for bowls anyway, they hope to play against a quality level of competition.

There is some order that the bowl can chose their team and committees have a say. As far as I know, the espn bowls are the same way. New Orleans used to get first pick as long as the champion was accommodated. That’s how we got there several times. I don’t think it’s like that anymore, but remember reading that the Lending Tree bowl was at the bottom and got 5th choice or something like that.

If we don’t want to play, just say no. Tech did it. Several teams did it last year.

Now that I think of it, ESPN was allowed to flex other teams into their games. I think that happened last year with us. No mention of a bowl committee, but just espn. Now I’m confused.

With ESPN owning most of the bowls now, I think you will see fewer ties in and more matchups that ESPN things the viewers would want to see.

    I could not agree more.

Fully agree except the Tech part. They didn’t say no, they told the Indy Bowl they’d get back to them while they tried to back door into the Liberty Bowl. Tech came back to the I Bowl but they had moved on. But never underestimate the reach of Mr Mouse. We’re watching it before our eyes.
