Thread: Cajuns football seniors have big decisions to make as National Signing Day approach

  1. Default Cajuns football seniors have big decisions to make as National Signing Day approach

The Ragin' Cajuns don't know which seniors will stay and which are done, even with National Signing Day coming Wednesday.

With this years rules, it seems like signing day is an irrelevant factor on Seniors decisions.

But I expect a huge part in coaches decisions on recruits.

I don’t see why a guy deciding to be here 1 more year would have anything to do with signing a guy who will be here for 5 years.

I’m pretty sure that the total numbers won’t change. 85 on scholarship, and I believe 105 on the team. So if that’s the case of course the numbers you can sign will vary based on who, SBC what conditions players come back under.

Returning seniors next year will not count against the 85. You will have to come up with the extra funding for scholarships and cost of living unless you can get the returning senior to agree to less.

Even with a down economy I think it would be fairly
easy to get donors to sponsor guys scholarships to go to school. I think people would be more willing to donate knowing they are helping a young man go to school.

Unless a paying student is denied admission and bumped for lack of space, scholarships cost the school very little beyond food and electricity.

Agreed, it matters very little if there’s 250 or 249 in a freshman Zoology class or 15 vs 13 in a senior stat class.
