Just curious, not trying to argue, just want some open discussion.

Would everyone be okay it it was a TOP 50? Or some other number? When I was growing up it was a top 20.

certainly a good idea. maybe a better idea if it somehow tied into the bowl projections, or maybe even formalizing the bowl slots somehow

Some people called it unnecessary at the time but the Ragas one-yard plunge at the end of the fourth to make the game a blowout against Iowa State IS what got Louisiana ranked.

Yeah, anyone who complained about that last TD are just so full it. Like any other team would not have done the same damn thing in that situation. And it's not like it was a blow-out or anything.

This ranking fiasco has nothing to do with Hud or 1943.

However to show the hypocrisy ... in 1943 they kept undefeated Louisiana out of the polls with the logic that they hadn't played enough games.

NOW a third into the 2020 season, they are inserting teams into the poll that haven't played any games.

You can’t or shouldn’t compare 1943 to 2020 in anything including the hard science physics much less subjective social science. You might be right in that they may still consider only games played once the season is well established.
